2020 Georgia PGA Pro Pro Evolve Golf Total Drive Challenge Results

Earlier this week, Evolve Golf was on the road, traveling down to Sea Island for the annual Georgia PGA Pro-Pro. The Pro-Pro is always one of the most well attended events of the season, but this year’s addition shattered all of the previous records. Over 220 professionals gathered for the two-man shamble event on Monday and Tuesday. Evolve Golf was stationed on the scenic 10th tee of Sea Island’s Seaside Course for our Total Driving Challenge. The 412 yard par 4 would be a birdie hole on a calm day, but in 2020, we have come to expect the unexpected. This week, #10 played straight into the teeth of a cool ocean breeze and demanded that players bring their absolute best on a hole framed by a hazard on the left and sand dunes on the right. Not everyone struggled on this hole, however. Shawn Koch, of Country Club of the South, took home top honors with a 268 yard drive that ended up just 1 yard off of the center line! Shawn’s draw proved to be the perfect shot on a windy day, ending up as the 8th longest and most accurate among eligible players. His drive barely edged out Corey Ford, of Augusta CC, and JP Griffin, of Capital City Club, who finished second and third respectively. A huge thank you goes out to Pat Day, Scott Gordon, and the entire Georgia PGA Section staff for putting on such a great show. We can’t wait to see everyone again next year!
