2020 Carolinas PGA Pro Pro Championship Total Driving Challenge & Drive Chip & Putt Results

Another fun filled week in Pinehurst is in the books. Evolve Golf was proud to sponsor another incredible Carolinas PGA Pro-Pro Championship. Evolve hosted two events throughout the week with the Drive, Chip & Putt Challenge on Tuesday evening, as well as the Total Driving Challenge which took place throughout the event on all three days of the championship. These events were held at the beautiful Mid-South Club with a field of over 300 players!

Thank you to everyone that came out to compete in Drive Chip & Putt contests under the festive lights! Each challenge was setup similar to that of championship held at August National each year with each player driving, chipping or putting as close as they could to the target to receive the highest amount of points possible. Congrats to the following players for their 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place finishes:

1st Place: Wes Grantham (Callawassie Island Club) 99 Total Points ($1500)
2nd Place: Jimmy Flippen (Greensboro National) 96 Points ($825)
3rd Place: Young Lim (Oak Hills Golf Club) 92 Points ($400)

The Total Driving Challenge was held on the Par 4 431 yard 12th Hole. A challenging tee shot that must be hit in the center of the fairway to avoid a reachable bunker on the left and pine trees on the right side. With a tee shot down the middle, players were able to have an easy 150-160yd approach shot into a center hole location.

In third place was Aaron Black of Springfield Golf Club. Aaron’s drive traveled 288 yards and was only 1 yard off the center line. Stuart McKechnic of Marc Lapointe Golf Academy came in second with a ball 299 yards and 4 yards off the middle of the fairway. Our winner of this TDC was Scooter Burham of Champion Hills. He had the longest drive of the day at 300 yards and strayed only 2 yard off center.

Evolve Golf would like to thank Matt Hauser and their entire Mid-South staff for hosting a wonderful event. We also would like to thank Jeff Abbott, Cory Armstrong and Mike Whitenack and the rest of the CPGA Section for running another amazing event. Evolve Golf is proud to provide tees, divot tools, ball markers, and custom tournament gifts to not only courses here in the Carolinas, but all throughout the country. We look forward to our continued partnership with the CPGA and all their members.

Thank you to all participants and congratulations to the Total Driving Challenge Winners.
