2017 Carolinas PGA Pro-Pro Championship

The Evolve team headed a couple hours up the road to the sandhills of Pinehurst for the 2017 Carolinas PGA Pro-Pro Championship. Evolve hosted the Total Driving Challenge at Mid South Club, one of the three courses competitors played throughout the week. A sizeable field of players and plenty of money in the purse it was sure to be another great event! Competitors and sponsors alike couldn’t have asked for better weather (hovered right around 70 degrees during mid-day) in the final week on November in North Carolina. Evolve was able to set-up for the TDC challenge on the 12th hole of the Mid South Club. The alternate shot format forced competitors to hit a long accurate drive to give their partner a shot at birdie on the 431 yard par 4. Both sides of the hole were lined with Pinehurst’s signature Longleaf pine trees and fairway bunkers on both sides.
Matt Stewart from Country Club of Asheville was able to take him third place with a 295 yard drive just a couple yards from the centerline. Drew Younts of Alamance Country Club won second place by also hitting a 295 yard tee ball but was only 1 yard from center. Ryan Schmidt from Carmel Country Club finished first with a 307 yard bomb 2 yards off the middle.
Evolve Golf would like to thank the Carolinas PGA section staff for running another first class event. Also like to thank Dalton Leonhardt and Josh Greene from the Mid South Club for their support throughout the three days.
Thank you to all competitors and congratulations to the winners of this year’s CPGA Pro-Pro TDC.
