Philadelphia PGA 2017 TaylorMade Classic

The Evolve team packed their bags and headed north to the city of brotherly love to join the Philadelphia PGA for the TaylorMade Classic at Concord Country Club. The cool early morning condition’s and gentle breeze forced players to grab a jacket before heading out on the course. The early groups had a major advantage as gentle breeze earlier in the morning turned into a steady wind later in the day.
The par 4, 421 yard 9th hole at Concord Country Club grabbed the player’s attention as soon as they walked to the tee. A fairway bunker and tall oak guarded the right side with thick rough on the left forcing players to be accurate off the tee. Mother Nature also had a major role, as the day went on the wind blew harder and every yard mattered in the end.
There was a second place tie in our Total Driving Challenge, with Sean Matthews from Huntingdon Valley Country Club, and Sam Ambrose from Aronimink Golf Club, both hitting impressive drives of 275 yards and on the center line. Our winner for the Total Driving Challenge, beating out his competitors by just 5 yards was Dan Marz, from Huntingdon Valtley Country Club with a drive of 280 yards right smack on the center line.
A big thank you to Mike Moses and his staff at Concord Country Club for hosting a phenomenal event at a remarkable club. Evolve Golf would also like to thank Geoff Surrette and his staff from the Philadelphia PGA for all their hard work and continued partnership.
