2020 Carolinas PGA Pro-Assistant Championship

Another Total Driving Challenge is in the books!  Evolve Golf made the quick trip down I-40 to the beautiful 36-Hole River Landing Country Club in Wallace, NC for the 2020 CPGA Pro Assistant Championship. The tournament marked the first Total Driving Challenge for Evolve Golf since the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus.

Evolve is proud to continue our longstanding partnership with with our home PGA Section here in the Carolinas. We are especially thankful to the Carolinas PGA and the professional staff at River Landing for the enormous amount of time and effort planning and implementing the necessary precautions to ensure that a safe event was enjoyed by all.  Evolve Golf did its small part by handing out a bottle of hand sanitizer from our local Wilmington, NC friends at End of Days Distillery.

The Evolve Golf Total Driving Challenge was held on the 13th Hole of the Landing course. The 13th hole is a challenging dogleg right Par 5. The tee shot invites players to favor the left side of the fairway for an opportunity to go for the green in two.  There were some impressive drives.  Our congratulations to the winners.

In third place was Charlie Maness of Piney Point Golf Club. Charlie’s drive traveled 285 yards and was only 3 yards off the center line. Jay Roux from Colleton River Club came in second with a ball 294 yards and 3 yards off the middle of the fairway. Our winner of this TDC was Caleb Ridings of The Country Club of Landfall. He had the longest drive of the day at 309 yards and strayed only 2 yard off center.

Evolve Golf would like to thank Larry George, Marshall Stott and their entire staff for hosting a wonderful event. We also would like to thank Jeff Abbott, Cory Armstrong and Mike Whitenack and the entire staff of the CPGA Section for running another amazing event. We look forward to our continued partnership with the CPGA and all their members.

Thank you to all participants and congratulations to the Total Driving Challenge winners. Each winner will receive a cash prize as well as a hand forged and custom stamped ball marker from Evolve Golf’s EC2 Foundry.
