2019 Spring Evolve Golf Professional Drive, Chip and Putt

Evolve Golf headed to Bluffton, South Carolina to beautiful Berkeley Hall Golf Club’s training and practice area to host our first Professional Drive, Chip and Putt Championship. It was a fun filled evening with PGA Professionals coming and competing for the top scores in four different categories including the overall score, driving score, chipping score and putting score.
It was a sunny evening, with low wind, making it a perfect night to be having a driving contest. With the area set and ready to go, PGA Professionals from the Carolina section took their shot with three attempts to score the most points. With a three-way tie for first place in the driving portion with 75 points each, was Ray Franz from Daniel Island Club, Luke Lovell of Kenmure Country Club and Daniel Seawall of Houndslake.
Next up was the chipping portion, with the opportunity for the PGA Professionals to get 3 shots as close as possible to the pin. Tied in third place with 40 points each was Sean O’Connor of Cedarwood Country Club and Chris Terry of The Dye Course at Sedgefield Country Club. Tied in first for the chipping portion of the championship with 45 points each was Matt Lucchesi of Colleton River Plantation and Ben Lee of Callawassie Island Club.
The final portion of the championship was the putting contest, with the opportunity to make putts from three different distances. Coming in a tie at third place in the putting portion was Tyler Porter of Old Chatham Golf Club and Robert Starkey of the Players Club at St. James both with 65 points each. In second place was Ray Franz of Daniel Island Club with 70 points. In first place of the putting portion with 75 points was Aaron Black of Springfield Golf Club.
The driving, chipping and putting portions were combined together to create an overall score for our top winners of the evening. Coming in third with a combined total 157 points, was Daniel Seawall of Houndstake. With 166 points overall, Luke Lovell of Kenmure Country Club came in second place. Coming in first place and toping the field with a total of 175 points for the evening was Ray Franz of Daniel Island Club!
