2018 Northern California PGA Senior Junior

The Evolve Golf Team flew across the country to conduct their Total Driving Challenge at the picturesque Crow Canyon CC in the Bay Area. Pullovers were donned in the morning as it was cloudy and windy but soon the sun came out and the scene was a beautiful Northern California day.
The ninth hole was the site for this version of the TDC. A beautifully hard left sloping par 4 where it was crucial to thread the needle between the trees to find the fairway and set yourself up for the second uphill shot. A hard right to left wind blew the entire morning when the contest was conducted promoting a draw that would find the left side of the fairway where there was a speed slot letting players gain an extra few yards and get to the flat part of the fairway. There were many great drives but three stood out among the rest.
In third place was Patrick Jones of Bayonet and Black Horse who drove the ball 270 yards right down the sprinkler line. In second was the Crow Canyon CC host Doug Gianni, no doubt knowing about the speed slot, who drove it 285 yards and strayed only a yard off of center. The winner of this Total Driving Challenge was Matthew Mores of Claremont CC who drove it 290 yards and only was a yard off of the center line!
We would like to thank Doug Giannini and the entire Crow Canyon staff. They were extremely helpful and professional all day long. We would also like to thank Cameron and Len of the Northern California PGA for all their help and work during the event. It is always great to travel to see all the great professionals in the area! We look forward to continuing our relationship with the NCPGA section and their members for years to come.
Thank you to all participants and congratulations to the Total Driving Challenge Winners.
