Another Total Driving Challenge is in the books as Evolve Golf traveled to the Buckeye State for the Southern Ohio PGA Spring Pro Pro. The event was held at The Lakes Golf and Country Club, a beautiful club such a golf rich area.
The 7th hole was the site of the Total Driving Challenge. The 7th hole was a long straight Par 5. A true 3 shot hole for most of the day as a strong 15MPH breeze blew directly into the players faces. With OB looming left off the tee and thick rough to the right a long straight drive was crucial in order to get a wedge into the hole. The course was still damp from hard rains during the week and roll was hard to come by.
There were several great drives during the day but three stood out from the others. In third was Travis Mumma of Troy CC. His drive traveled 269 yards and was only 2 yards off the center line. Michael Auterson from Hickory Woods GC came in second with a ball 267 yards and absolutely dead down the middle of the fairway. Our winner of this TDC was Joe Falardeau of Scioto CC. He had the longest drive of the day at 278 yards and strayed only 1 yard off center. A great recipe for success!
