2018 Carolinas PGA Head Pro Championship

Evolve Golf was excited to begin their season of Carolinas PGA section sponsorships at the first major championship of the year. The Head Professional Championship and RBC Heritage Qualifier was hosted by the Callawassie Island Club. We lucked out for the 3rd straight year with weather in the upper 70s for the event. Evolve Golf set up for the Total Driving Challenge on the 3rd hole of the Dogwood course, a daunting 550 yard par 5, which was well guarded with fairway bunkers and ponds. The hole played into a slight breeze the first day of competition but downwind the second day which allowed players to hit long, straight drives in order to finish at the top of the Total Driving Challenge.
Third place in the TDC went to Randy Darden of Brays Island Club with a drive of 313 yard just 4 off of the centerline. Second place prize went to Andrew Bateman of Diamond Creek with a 317 yard drive also 4 paces off of center. First place went to Chase Godwin of Kiawah Island’s Cassique, with a 322 yard bomb just 2 yards away from the middle.
Evolve Golf would like to thank the Carolinas PGA staff for their hard word in setting up these major championships for competitors. We would also like to thank Wes Grantham and the entire Callawassie Island staff for hosting the event at their beautiful club.
Thank you to all participants and congratulations to the Total Driving Challenge Winners.
