2018 Georgia PGA Spring Pro Pro-Scramble

The Georgia PGA Spring Pro-Pro Scramble kicked off the season at Achasta Golf Club in Dahlonega, Georgia. After some big storms rolled through the night before dropping over an inch of rain, the course was playing very long with soggy conditions all over. Evolve Golf set up on the par 4, 18th Hole for the Total Distance Challenge. The number 1 handicap hole was playing a little more difficult with varying winds blowing right into the players faces. Carry distance was at a premium as roll was virtually non-existent on in the wet conditions.
Although distances were limited due to the soggy fairways, we did see some long and accurate drives from the Georgia PGA Pro’s. In third place was Cory Cooper with a drive of 270 yards and just 2 yards off center. Shawn Kelley was in second place with a drive of 275 yards, and only 1 yard off center. Our winner with a drive of 276, and 1 yard off center was Chase Epting.
Congratulations to the winners, and big thanks to Jordan Arnold and the staff at Achasta Golf Club for hosting a great event! The Georgia PGA staff did a wonderful job as usual, and we look forward to seeing you again in Sea Island for the Pro Pro.
