2018 Metropolitan PGA Section Westchester Pro-Assistant

This version of Evolve Golf’s Total Driving Challenge took place in the Big Apple as a cloudy morning turned into a beautiful sunny afternoon for the make-up date of the Westchester Pro Assistant. The event was graciously hosted by Westchester Hill CC, a great strategic club with tight fairways and small greens. Hitting the fairway was key to allow yourself a chance to score.
The first hole stood in the shadow of the clubhouse and served as the site for the TDC. With trees on both sides and bunkers left and right hitting a long straight drive on the short 359 yard hole would leave the players with a great chance for a birdie on the first. Players in the morning had softer conditions from the previous days rain but the afternoon group dealt with a little breeze in the face that the morning did not deal with. There were great drives in both waves but 3 stood out from the rest.
In third place was overall winner of the event Rob Labritz of GlenArbor with a great drive of 294 yards and strayed only 2 yards off line. No doubt great driving led to some timely birdies as he and Debbie won the event. Congratulations to them! In second place was Tanner Megal of Apawamis. He drove his ball 284 yards and was only 1 yard off of center! And finally the winner of this Total Driving Challenge was Craig Thomas of Metropolis. He clipped Tanner by a yard driving it 285 yards and also strayed 1 yard off of center! Congratulations Craig!
We would like to thank Jason Gobleck and the entire Westchester Hills staff. They were extremely helpful and professional all day long. We would also like to thank Jeff and Daniel of the Metropolitan PGA for all their help and work during the event. We always enjoy the hospitality and professionalism that the MET section is known for. We look forward to continuing our relationship with the MET section and their members for years to come.
