2018 Gulf States PGA Pro Championship

Evolve Golf traveled out to New Orleans, Louisiana for the 2018 Gulf States Pro Championship for our Total Driving Challenge. A colder low 50-degree day with a stiff breeze throughout the day led to rough playing conditions for the players during the driving contest.
The 18^th hole at Bayou Oaks at City Park on the South course was a long 542-yard straight away par 5. The tough windy breeze led to no assistance for the PGA professionals.
Third place finish in the TDC after ranking the distance and accuracy numbers went to Marshall Saxon of Pelican Point Golf and Country Club with a 247-yard drive just 1 yard off center. Allan Martel of Audubon Park Golf Course hit a 248-yard drive just 1 yard off center as well to finish in second place. First place in the Total Driving Challenge went to Nick Ellison of Greenville Golf and Country Club with a 253-yard bomb of the drive dead center of the fairway.
Evolve Golf would like to thank PGA Professionals Brain Long and Alex Abbruzza, and the staff at the South course of Bayou Oaks at City Park for hosting the Pro-Assistant Championship at their beautiful course.
A special thanks to the Gulf States PGA and their staff, Robert Brown, Thomas Brockman and Morgan Williamson for letting us join them on our first event with the Gulf States. We are looking forward to continuing our Total Driving Challenge with Gulf States PGA Section in the future.
