A chilly morning led into a beautiful day at Eagle Point Golf Club in Wilmington, NC. Evolve Golf was on hand for the Carolinas PGA Pro-Official Championship, pairing up a Carolinas PGA Professional with an Official from their club in a better ball format. Eagle Point Golf Club was in its typical, perfect condition and understandably pulled a large field for the event. Evolve Golf set up on the 500-yard, Par 5 12th hole for the Total Distance Challenge. Playing into a steadily increasing head wind through the day made for a difficult tee shot, especially for players in the afternoon. Even then, we saw some great drives and had a great day!
Our third-place finisher was Chase Godwin with a drive of 298 yards, and 4 yards of center. In second place, Savio Nazareth, with a drive of 268 yards, and just 3 yards off center. The winner of the Total Distance Challenge had a drive of 269 yards, and only 2 yards off center. Congratulations to Ryan Alexander of Cape Fear Country Club!
A special thanks to our hometown hosts at Eagle Point Golf Club. Billy Anderson, Brian Joyner, and the entire staff are always wonderful hosts! Not to forget the Carolinas PGA Staff and their hard work to run the event. It was a great day, and we are sure everyone in attendance had a fantastic, and memorable experience.
