2017 Southern California PGA Pro Assistant Championship

The Evolve team packed their bags and jumped on a flight out west to join the Southern California PGA for the 2017 Pro-Assistant Championship at Mission Hills Country Club. Rodney Silvagni, and his staff at Mission Hills Country Club had the course in prime condition. With a full field and plenty of money in the purse it was sure to be a great event! The slightly cooler temperatures and gentle breeze both days gave players the extra boost they needed to pull out the driver for the Total Driving Challenge. The Evolve team set-up shop on the 9th hole of the Pete Dye Challenge Course. The players were forced to hit a good tee shot on the 538-yard Par 5 if they were to have a chance to go for the green in two. With water along the left and a fairway bunker guarding the right side, the majority of players found that taking it over the bunker was the safe bet and better angle for reaching the green in two.
Thomas Chu, From Valencia Country Club captured the 3rd place spot with a drive of 310 yards and right in the middle of the fairway. Uriel Jimenez took second place with an impressive drive of 315 yards and right on the center line. Long Ball Blair Harkins, from Rolling Hills Country Club took home the title with a mammoth drive of 321 yards and right in the middle of the fairway.
Evolve Golf would like to thank the Southern California PGA section staff for running a remarkable event and making sure all participants and sponsors were taken care of.
