Northern California PGA 2017 Senior Junior

Evolve Golf traveled across the country to the scenic Spring Valley Golf Club in Milpitas, CA for the Northern California PGA 2017 Senior-Junior Championship. It was a perfect day at the course with sunny skies, temperatures in the low 70’s, and a light helping breeze. The 9th hole was the site of the Total Driving Challenge. The 9th hole was a straight-away par 4 measuring 417 yards from the championship tees. There was not a single hazard, but hitting the fairway was essential to hold the small firm green.
The 9th played a whisper downwind and with a little altitude allowing the Evolve team to measure great drives. The third place finisher Matt Viguerie of California Country Club hit his drive 302 yards and 2 yards off center. Our second place finisher Jason Schmuhl of the Windsor Golf Course bombed it 316 yards and 4 yards off center.  The winner of this Total Distance Challenge was Joe Dolby of Palo Alto Golf and Country Club. Joe’s drove his golf ball 316 yards and managed to only stray 2 yards off center! Thank you to all the players and who came out and played and congratulations to our winners.
Evolve Golf would like to thank Matt Garrison and his entire staff for hosting a wonderful event. We also would like to thank Cameron MacGregor, Chris Thomas and the rest of the Northern California PGA Section for running another flawless event. We look forward to our continued partnership with the Northern California Section and all their members.
