2017 MET PGA Westchester Pro-Assistant Championship Evolve Golf TDC Results

A breezy Spring day fell upon the 2017 Taylormade/Adidas Westchester Pro Assistant in Elmsford, New York. Evolve Golf was fortunate enough to host our Total Driving Challenge on the 5th hole at Knollwood Country Club, a 535 yard par 5. Located right in front of the clubhouse, the 5th hole was a slight dog leg left with out of bounds hugging the tree line down the left side, as well as an overhanging tree on the right side of the green, forcing players to take on the left half of the fairway to take a shot at the green in two.
Facing a strong headwind for most the day, Metropolitan Professionals were forced to battle the elements to get their drives past the upslope in the landing area that prevented most drives from bounding down the fairway. Peter Basso of Greenwich Country Club took home the first prize by capitalizing on a break in the wind and hit his drive 293 yards and only one yard off the center line, edging out Tom May of The Stanwich Club who hit his drive 284 yards on the same line. Finishing third in the contest was Ben Hoffhine of Westchester Country Club with a drive of 275 yards that finished right on the center line.
Evolve Golf would like to thank Bob Miller and his staff at Knollwood Country Club for hosting this year’s Taylormade/Adidas Westchester Pro Assistant. We are also appreciative of the entire Metropolitan Section PGA staff members for all the hard work they do and for making events like these possible. We hope everyone has a great start to their season and we look forward to seeing everyone at the Fall Meeting!
