The Evolve Golf team headed out to the Southern Ohio Section for the Spring Pro Pro at the beautiful Maketewah Country Club. Although heavy rains overnight made the conditions a little soggy, we had a perfect day for the event. The long, straight away par 4, 6th hole was the setting for out Total Distance Challenge. Calm winds and warm weather were ideal for keeping the ball in the fairway, but the wet conditions limited roll and shortened distances.
Our third place finisher Geoff Newman of Four Bridges CC had a drive of 268 yards and one yard off center. In second place Jimmy Logue of Wedgewood G&CC posted a drive of 269 yards as well as one yard off center. Our winner of the Total Distance Challenge at the Southern Ohio Spring Pro-Pro was Jeff Olson of The GC of Dublin. Jeffs drive of 282 yards and only 2 yards off center was one of our longer overall drives, and almost perfectly placed!
