2016 Philadelphia PGA Laurel Creek Classic

2016 Philly PGA Laurel Creek Classic
Morning clouds gave way to sunshine and upper 70s at the Laurel Creek Classic in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey. This individual stroke play event consisted of 100 PGA professionals in the Philadelphia section. The Laurel Creek Classic was graciously hosted by John DiMarco and his staff at Laurel Creek Country Club. Evolve Golf conducted our Total Driving Challenge on the par 4, 12th hole. The slight dog-leg played 420 yards from the championship tees and 357 from the ladies tees for the section event. The forced carry over a natural area and large bunker guarding the left side of the hole challenged the competitors to hit both a long and accurate tee shot.
Greg Matthias of Tavistock CC came in first place with a drive of 288 and on the center line. Second place went to Andrew Turner of Whitford Country Club and third place for Rick McCall at Wild Quail Golf and CC. Mike Furey from Mahoning Valley Country Club took home first place in the section event after an outstanding (-5) 66.
Evolve Golf would like to thank the Philadelphia PGA section staff for allowing us to be a supporting sponsor of the event. We would also like to thank the PGA professionals attending the event and their support Evolve Golf’s line of essential golf accessories.
