2016 MET PGA Long Island Pro-Assistant Championship

2016 MET PGA Long Island
It was a summer like day at Cold Spring Country Club with temperatures in the mid 70’s and plenty of sunshine. Jim Weiss and the staff at Cold Spring Country Club ran a remarkable tournament. When the clock struck 8 AM players began to head to the lengthy par 5 first hole measuring 565 yards from the blue tees. Out of bounds guarded the left and the range threatened on the right, players had to thread the needle between two large fairway bunkers that were very much in play off the tee. After the day was over Matt Dobyns, from Fresh Meadows Country Club stood at the top of the leaderboard with the winning tee shot of 348 yards and right on the line. Second place was Erik Easton from The Bridge with an impressive drive of 325 yards and just 2 yards off the line. Third place was Kyle Higgins from Inwood Country Club who also hit a notable drive measuring 318 yards and just 2 yards off the line.
