2015 Carolinas PGA Head Professional Championship Total Driving Challenge Results

Cold and soggy conditions could not dampen the first day of the Carolina’s PGA Head Professional Championship at the beautiful and immaculate Berkeley Hall Golf Club. The 467 yard long 18th hole played brutal host for the Total Driving Challenge. Competitor’s drives were robbed of any roll.

Day two of the championship gave us a glimmer of spring and featured much drier conditions, but the fairways still would not yield much roll.  The second to last group of the day brought out the winning drive.  Brooks Blackburn struck a laser straight drive of 290 yards that landed a half yard off the mark. Mr. Blackburn went on to win the CPGA Head Professionals Championship.  Derek Easter claimed second place with a 286 yard drive that landed 3 yards from the target and Steve Isley finished in the money with a 280 yard drive 3 yards from center.  Congratulations to all;

Evolve Golf’s Epoch Performance Tee Dominates Competition in Two More Independent Lab Tests

Patented, Tour-Proven Design Shown to Improve
Distance and Accuracy

Sunset Beach, NC October 19, 2010 – Evolve Golf, Inc.

News Summary

  • Evolve Golf confirms recent independent testing conducted at both GolfTest USA and Golf Laboratories showed the company’s patented, Tour-proven Epoch performance tee provides significantly greater total distance and accuracy than competing products.
  • Featuring a robot and players with a wide variety of handicaps and swing speeds, these are the latest in a series of tests to support the distinct advantages golfers of all abilities can gain by using the Epoch.
  • Using a launch monitor, GolfTest USA compared the Epoch to a three-post composite tee, an offset composite tee and a traditional wooden tee. According to the data acquired from 20 male and female golfers hitting multiple shots with each tee, the Epoch proved on average to be:

11.6 yards longer and 1.6 yards more accurate than the three-post composite tee

9.0 yards longer and 4.7 yards more accurate than the traditional wooden tee

7.3 yards longer and 2.2 yards more accurate than the offset composite tee

  • Those results were mirrored by Golf Laboratories, which conducted its tests at a swing speed of 95 mph using a robot and launch monitor in a controlled test environment. Under these conditions, the Epoch was shown to be:

1.8 yards longer and 2.0 yards more accurate than the three-post composite tee

5.8 yards longer and 2.7 yards more accurate than the traditional wooden tee

3.4 yards longer and 3.0 yards more accurate than the offset composite tee

  • Since its 2004 debut, the Epoch has been part of 127 major Tour wins, including 48 PGA Tour victories. Used weekly by scores of PGA Tour players it is the only performance tee with radius posts that span the width of a golf ball dimple. This unique feature creates the lowest coefficient of friction of any tee, eliminating deflection at impact and increasing ball speed and control.
  • Like all Evolve Golf products and packaging, the Epoch is environmentally friendly. Made from recycled materials, the design is significantly more durable than its wooden counterparts and not harmful to mower blades.

Quotes

“The test results go hand-in-hand with the fact that so many of the world’s best players trust the Epoch’s performance advantages to help them win on Tour,” says BJ Maloy, Founder and CEO of Evolve Golf. “When the variability of each golfer’s swing is evaluated, golf tee design flaws become blatantly evident. Whether it’s a test featuring a robot in controlled conditions or average men and women swinging away, our tees are quite literally outpacing the competition.”

Evolve Golf’s Epoch Tee Used by Winner of Turning Stone Resort Championship

Ocean Isle, NC October 6, 2009 – Evolve Golf, Inc.

News Summary

  • Evolve Golf – maker of the No. 1 performance golf tee on Tour – confirms the winner of the PGA Tour’s Turning Stone Resort Championship relied on its patented Epoch tee.
  • The Epoch golf tee has won 123 times on the major tours since its 2004 debut, including 46 wins on the PGA Tour.
  • The Epoch is the only performance tee with radius posts that span the width of a golf ball dimple. This unique feature creates the lowest coefficient of friction of any tee, eliminating deflection at impact and increasing ball speed and control off the tee.
  • The Epoch has been scientifically proven via a series of rigorous independent robotic tests combined with extensive player testing to provide improvements of up to 12 yards distance and 9 yards accuracy.
  • Not just built for performance, the Epoch – like all Evolve Golf products – is environmentally friendly. Made from recycled materials that are degradable, the design is ten times more durable than its wooden counterparts and not harmful to mower blades.

“Every year the WGC Bridgestone Invitational draws an elite field of players from around the world, and it’s no surprise that the top performers are using the Epoch tee,” says Evolve Golf Founder and CEO, BJ Maloy. “Each week, more and more Tour stars embrace the distance and accuracy benefits our eco-friendly, performance tees provide.”

Testimonials From Top Clubs Nationwide

“We decided to switch to the Epoch for our 2009 season with the expectation that we would use half of our hardwood consumption. We purchased 300,000 hardwood tees in 2008 and thus far our members have consumed just 60,000 Epoch tees to date,” says Sean Martin, PGA Head Professional, Atlanta Athletic Club. “Our tee areas are cleaner and the response from our membership has been overwhelmingly positive. I would gladly endorse the Epoch to any golf shop, as the switch has saved us money.”

“We switched to Evolve products last year and our members love them,” says Bob Mauragas, Vice President of Golf Operations at Reynolds Plantation. “Players are actually picking up tees as they leave the tee box.”

“Since switching to the Epoch in 2008 we have seen the consumption of golf tees trend down substantially each season,” says Katie Clark, Merchandising Manager, The Sanctuary Golf Club. “The members have nothing but positive feedback regarding our switch to the Epoch, as our tee boxes are now free of broken wooden tees.”

“Our members love Evolve tees. So much so that we keep a supply on each par three,” says Chip King, Director of Golf at Grandfather Golf and Country Club. “As a result, we have virtually eliminated the mess of broken tees on the course.”

“The fact is that we are very happy with the Epoch,” says Matt Gallagher, PGA Director of Golf, Country Club of Fairfax. “We have cut the number of tees we go through by two-thirds compared to the number of wood tees we purchased last year.”

“The tees are a huge hit at Black Hall. I didn’t know it was possible for humans to have these kinds of feelings about golf tees,” says Andrew Campbell, Head Professional, Black Hall Club.

Its unique design is scientifically proven to provide gains in both distance and accuracy.

In early 2009, Evolve Golf introduced the Sweet Spot System – an option available for all Evolve tees – it is an interactive tool that takes the guesswork out of consistently teeing a ball to the proper height by aligning the ball with the driver’s “sweet spot”, assuring golfers get optimum distance and accuracy on every drive. Easy to use, players simply enter the make and model of their driver at Evolve Golf’s website and the application returns the recommended depth of insertion mark to use when placing the tee into the ground. This guide is a visual reference tool featuring four evenly spaced marks printed on the stem of the tee (http://www.evolvegolf.com/settings.php).
