2016 Carolinas PGA Section Championship

2016-cpga-section-championshipA week full of rain leading up to the event left wet and difficult conditions for the CPGA Section Championship at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, NC. 120 of the Carolina’s section PGA professionals competed for the designation of top player in this 3-day individual stroke play tournament. Evolve Golf was fortunate to host the Total Driving Challenge on the 9th hole of the Marsh course (played as hole 18 by the competitors). This 433 yard par 4, consisted of out bounds both left and right as well as a daunting fairway bunker up the left side.
With such wet conditions, players relied on long carries to place in the Total Driving Challenge. Ryan Tyndall from the Reserve Golf Club at Pawleys Island captured third place with a 279 yard drive and just 1 yard off the centerline. Second place went to Burke Cromer of Northwoods GC who crushed a drive 293 yards and just 4 paces off the center of the fairway. Savio Nazareth of Starmount Forest Country Club captured first place in the Total Driving Challenge with a 291 yard bomb that settled just 2 yards off the center.
Evolve Golf would like to thank the staff at Country Club of Landfall for hosting a top-notch event.
